| A native of greater Chicago, Joseph has been making art since he
was a child. He studied art and design at the Kansas City Art Institute,
and at the Art Students League and National Academy in New York City.
Since moving to New York, he has been actively showing his work in
solo, group, and juried exhibitions in the Northeast. His work is
held in private collections throughout the US, Canada, and the UK.
In his last solo exhibition in 2002, Joseph showed a group of life-size
portraits of the greatest chefs of all time, including Careme, Escoffier,
Chapel, Point, Girardet, and Robuchon, plus contemporary masters
Craig Shelton and Paul Lebrandt.
In addition to commissioned portraits and other work with the figure,
Joseph paints landscape, still life and polo/equine pictures. He
is a member of the ASOPA (American Society of Portrait Artists),
the New Jersey Equine Artists Association, and the Somerset Art
