| Gouache is opaque watercolor which can be used either opaquely or
transparently. I always start with just a couple pencil lines indicating
the gesture of the action, then I start in directly with bold strokes
of black. The paper is Strathmore Bristol, plate finish; the paint
more ‘rests’ on the surface than it is absorbed by it,
and the brush skates across it as if it were glass.
I’ve chosen several to be reproduced as giclee prints on
white archival Strathmore paper, signed and numbered in editions
of 100. |
